"What a truly spectacular experience!" exclaimed Annalise Baird! 8 of our choir students performed in the 1,400 voice mass choir in The Schools Spectacular held at the entertainment centre. It is an indulgent feast of the performing arts. The show is all encompassing with 1,800 dancers, 1,400 voices in the mass choir, an 80 piece orchestra, a marching band, a signing choir, an Aboriginal Dance company in partnership with Bangarra Dance Theatre and many talented soloists. "It was incredible "said Sarah Hodgson.  "It even had fireworks!" Over 3,500 students from across New South Wales Public Schools participate. "The amount of talent in NSW Public Schools is overwhelming" commented Ms Sara Holden, Choir mistress."I feel so proud to be part of this system being able to support out students in such extraordinary opportunities".
Their choir sang in a wide variety of acts including Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins, Amazing Grace, Time Warp and Imagine by John Lennon. Jack Vidgen, The winner of Australia's Got Talent sang the theme song IMAGINE for the finale. One of the highlights for the girls was being up close to Jack Vidgen back stage."I even got to hug him" said Neve Gilles.  All the students are hoping to go again next year. The Imagine Schools Spectacular 2011 will be televised on the ABC on December 2 and New Years Eve.
